The purpose of the QuakeCottage™ is to provide an educational experience of what it is like to go through a major earthquake and how to prepare. Our QuakeCottage provides a realistic simulation of up to an 8.0 magnitude quake.

QuakeCottage Society is a non-profit dedicated to making earthquake safety education engaging, practical, and unforgettable.
When you bring our QuakeCottage team to your event, it creates an engaging, hands-on learning experience that captures participants’ attention right away.
Through our interactive mobile simulator, participants watch a guided video, while experiencing a realistic earthquake in a safe environment. Secured objects demonstrate how items can shift or break, helping participants gaining firsthand insight into how earthquakes impact everyday spaces.
Each session includes a brief safety introduction and a follow-up discussion on earthquake preparedness.
The program supports science and safety curriculum goals while giving participants a memorable, practical understanding of how to stay safe during an earthquake.

Things to know if you are considering hosting a QuakeCottage event:
- Truck and Simulator stay attached during event
- Space Required: 20′ x 50′
- Type of surface required: level area, cement, asphalt, paver stones, packed gravel
- The QuakeCottage trailer has a built in generator so no power is required, unless preferred
- Up to 3 individuals can be seated and experience the simulation at one time
- Each simulation includes a time for questions before or after
- The ride contains loud sounds and graphic images
- QuakeCottage equipment will be transported, set up and operated by our qualified personnel
